Ghost Recon Breakpoint- analysis and criticism.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon BreakPoint is the 11th installment of the popular shooter, and this new installment will be for PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. We will have an open-world game, 3rd person action, online cooperative action by up to four players, and a host of new features that we will tell you about throughout this article.
The idea of the game is a bit far from the original formula of the saga but still maintains the essential tactical elements, incorporating a larger world with multiple options and orders to perform. Ubisoft's intention with Breakpoint is to improve the previous Wildland delivery, but from what we have been seen in the first review of the game, those expectations have not been fulfilled.
New history
This time our adventure will take place on a fictional island located in the Pacific Ocean, Aurora Island. Our character, who is a special agent of the Ghost forces, will be sent there on a reconnaissance mission, but will be trapped there since the island has been taken over by the Wolves, a former U.S. Army unit led by a former Ghost Cole D. Walker who has taken control of a drone factory, which he has converted into autonomous weapons. We have lost all contact with the outside, so we are abandoned to our own fate, as a member of the Ghost squad, our goal is to regain control, free the population and defeat the rebels.
Missions
First, let's talk about The Main Missions, as we have already explained our primary mission is to find out why the Wolves want the technology found on the island, Skell Technology, and why Walker has betrayed us. Obtaining all as much information as possible will be our task; now, the way to do it will depend on each player. We can do it in a stealthy way and with the least amount of shots possible or we can be a real Rambo and shoot everywhere, whichever of the two ways we choose to do it, our experience will be very fun and satisfying.
The Secondary Missions will follow more or less the same pattern, and we must help the inhabitants in specific tasks that they cannot fulfill, we will find quite exciting missions that are worth doing. Also, we will have collectible extras, documents, photographs, and pieces of biographies, from these elements, we can learn a little more about the island and everything that surrounds the history of the game. There are missions in which they ask us to locate improvements to our weapons, as well as new weapons.
The mission system is quite realistic; to move forward, we must find information around the whole island, it should be noted that the terrain of Aurora Island is much larger than Wildland. One point that has been a bit controversial is the story branches out into small mini-campaigns, each corresponding to different characters.
The objective of our missions will no longer be something as simple as you see there and kill that or destroy that, but it will go through a more complicated process in which we must gradually gather information, to bases of small missions
Alone or in cooperative
In solitary, the companions controlled by the IA have been eliminated, so we can enjoy a purely lonely experience, but don't worry, if we wish we can join 3 other players to survive. We will also have a competitive multiplayer mode from the launch; to be able to access all these options, it will be necessary to be connected to the Internet at all times.
Specialization
The Breakpoint will start with four different character classes, and each one will have its own abilities and oriented towards a different style of play, being able to alternate between them at any time. We know Ubisoft plans to add new classes in future updates.
As we have already mentioned, there are four classes; If we decide for the Doctor, we will be able to deploy medicinal drones all over the battlefield, healing our comrades. If we go more direct combat, we should choose the Assault, and we will have more health and resistance to attacks, so we will be the offensive of our squad. The Panther class specializes in infiltration, hand-to-hand combat, and stealthy murder. Of course could not miss our Sniper, hidden in the most remote places will be a real headache for enemies. Each member of our squad will be able to choose a class and specialize in it.
Game Modes
Ghost Recon Breakpoint will give us two different ways to walk around the map. One will be the Guided Mode, which will show us on the map the location through a yellow marker and the Explorer Mode in which we will have to gather clues in our environment to reach the target. To make the exploration a bit easier, we will have a drone, which will mark the key places, be it missions, locations, collectibles, and the location of the enemies that are close to our avatar.
Eliminate microtransactions
Ubisoft has announced in this new installment of the saga, microtransactions based on progression will be dispensed with, so there will no longer be any purchase of skill points, weapons, and materials with real money.
This will allow all those who access the video game to have the possibility of unlocking all types of equipment without buying anything with real money. The progression will be developed simply by playing and depending on the skill and ambition of each player.
Graphics
The highest graphical load comes at the time of loading textures and some elements of the scenario, such as that we are in a place where there is supposed to be an NPC and this is not found, we have to wait 10 to 15 seconds for it to load, In general, the game does not present major problems in terms of graphics and where it matters most, during combat, the game remains stable and without any complications.

It is a pity that the identity of the franchise has been lost as other great characteristic aspects of Ghost Recon as it is, the narrative, the AI , and design decisions to which the franchise had already accustomed us. It is a clear example where the whole is below the small things, which are the ones that make the game a bit entertaining.
